I'm with you on this. Rather like you I hadn't wanted to be on the donor register for various reasons; squeamish ones at the top of them. I am now on the register, and again the lack of eyes going is something S has decided, not me (although she always says "I'm going before you so it won't matter).

We have a friend who donated a kidney to her daughter. It was incredibly successful and we're really proud of her. I admire anyone who does that; and I'd do it too if in the same circumstances.

The internet is one of those open forum places where we can hide behind the anonymity of our keyboards; so people appear to feel that they can say more without as much fear of retribution as if they'd said it in person. Tis a sad day when people feel the need to attack. It's just like a school playground really, the internet.

Hey! :) This is Sarah H. from way back when on Xanga. I saw your status on Facebook about donating for the walk and decided to creep on you after I donated. =D

I'm sorry to hear about the Blokey - I remember when you guys were just getting married! Crazy. But it seems like you are getting through it well.

I just finished my first year of college - I'm majoring in film production at Emerson College. Again, crazy.

I think every workplace (apart from them there really rich bank peoples) is going through these huddles, whispers and potential redundancy discussions. It's not a very nice position to be in (with all that horrible potential)...

Beeps and bloops and whooshes sound quite exciting. You must feel as if you're on the Star Trek bridge at night. At least blokey is responding well to the bleepysystem, well, when it's not in the freebie shed having stopped working ;-)

And Monty Python didn't have the monopoly on tBSoL, even if they did sing it...

Bah to possible redundancies. It's the same sort of situation at the universities I work at (well, one more than the other) - a freeze on new recruitment, and uncertainty, and lots of huddling and whispering.

On a belated note, I'm glad you had a good time in Prague - it sounds lovely. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed Prague (I always want to pronounce it as 'pray-gh'), I keep saying that S & I will go but we haven't so far. Your pics looked fab (bless Facebook) :-)

I don't think I would mind one jot about the house either, but how random to give you a shed! Good ol' NHS logic...

Oh, go on, send them that one. It'll get the same treatment as your first (ie not read and straight in the bin)..................... but it'll give you much more satisfaction in knowing that someone, somewhere might open it.
